Principal Secretary for Higher Education, Dr. Levis Eneya, has urged newly graduated students of the Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) to uphold ethical standards as they enter the job market and venture into entrepreneurship, stressing that integrity is key to making a positive difference in the country.

He made the call during the 2025 MCA graduation ceremony held on August 28 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, where 720 students from various programs graduated.

“You should always uphold the high standards of excellence that MCA is known for, do not compromise on quality, live up to the expectations of your employers and colleagues, work diligently, maintain ethical standards, and be exemplary in your conduct and quality.

“I therefore challenge all of you to look at problems of tomorrow and make yourself relevant by finding solutions. As you entre the workforce today, I encourage you not to stop learning because education is a lifelong journey,” he said.

In her remarks, MCA Principal, Christina Chithila, commended the students for their hard work, reminding them that they have received quality education under MCA and that they must punctuate that quality with integrity because that is what MCA is known for.

She acknowledged the challenges of a saturated job market, urging the graduates to embrace entrepreneurship.

She said: “The reality is that companies cannot accommodate everyone. If you have ideas, partner with your friends and start companies. Also, consider furthering your studies and pursue a Master’s degree at MCA.”

As she encouraged the graduates to continue pursuing their aspirations, the Principal further drew inspiration from the former First Lady of the United States, and Human Rights Activist, Eleanor Roosevelt, quoting: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

The 720 graduates completed programs in Bachelor of Applied Accounting, Auditing, and Information Systems; Bachelor of Business Management and Entrepreneurship; Bachelor of Banking and Financial Services Management; Bachelor of Management Information Systems; and Bachelor of Marketing and Public Relations.
